Hand
Everything that occurs after the initial shuffling of the cards -
cards are dealt, betting is done, a winner is declared and the pot is
pushed. A hand also has several other meanings.
Hand
A player's best five cards.
Heads Up
A pot that is being contested by only two players - 'It was heads up
by the turn.'
Heads-up
One-on-one poker.
High-Low
A poker game in which the highest and lowest hands share the pot.
Also called High-Low Split.
Hit And Run
A player who has only been at the table a short amount of time and
leaves after winning a big pot.
Hit
As in 'the flop hit me.' It means the flop contained cards that help
your hand. If you have AK, and the flop comes K-7-2, it hit you.
hold'em
Also known as Texas hold'em, where the players get two down cards
and five community cards. See our complete hold'em rules in our Game

Hole Card
A card concealed in a player's hand.
Hole Cards
These are the Down Cards in front of the players.
Hole
The concealed card or cards.
Home Run Hitter
A player who makes big plays that require maximum risk.
Horsing
Passing a small amount of money to another player after winning a
pot; scooting.
Hot
Said of a player on a winning streak.
House
Everything that makes up the cardroom, such as dealers, management,
etc. The house rakes money from the pot and develops and enforces house
rules.
